ReCinder

ReCinder is a 100% recycled material made from discarded ceramic waste that has been diverted from landfill.

Developed as a greener alternative to industrially processed clay, ReCinder is suitable for tiling, tableware and furniture.​

Its aesthetic potential can differ greatly from colour to surface texture depending on the source of the waste, making each collection completely individual.

However it’s most significant application is its use in lighting due to its unique translucent quality and ability to filter out harmful blue light.

ReCinder is currently the only entirely recycled ceramic material on the market capable of translucency.

After extensive material development and refinement, ReCinder tableware was launched in May 2025 in collaboration with home-goods store 'Home of Sustainable Things'.

This collection is available to purchase on their website, as well as a limited edition collection which is available through London-based Museum of the Home's online shop.

ReCinder tableware is handcrafted in London, using waste collected from local pottery studios. For every ReCinder plate made, approximately 650g of ceramic waste is diverted from landfill. A recent life cycle assessment found that ReCinder tableware has a 25% lower carbon footprint than traditional ceramic, with just 4% of the transport emissions due to local sourcing and a 10% longer product lifespan, reducing the need for replacements over time. Our tableware is also both microwave and dishwasher safe.

In 2023 ReCinder won the Build Back Better Green Award and in February 2026 ReCinder won the Material Transformation category at the Surface Design Awards.
